The product decision

Reuse the Dark Reels engine and reinterpret the experience through Knave from the ALIZE world. The reusable engine crossed product lines; the fictional worlds remained distinct. Dark Reels was branded under Multiverse to allow other inspirations, while ALIZE retained its own universe.

The experience

Knave becomes a conqueror fighting armies, with progression into slot bonuses and extras. These project details are supplied by Jim Ling; the cover is titled Knife’s Battlefield.

The leadership challenge

Advocate for a more ambitious direction and work to secure approval within the available mechanics, math and production capabilities. The aim was a differentiated experience and a clear distinction between a reusable product foundation and the identity of each fictional world.
